This doc has instructions on how to enable webcam for Chrome, Internet Explorer, Edge, Firefox, Safari and Brave.

For every browser there are 2 scenarios that are covered:

  1. Opening adaface.com for the first time in the scenario that you have never denied/ allowed access before

  2. Opening adaface.com for second time after you have denied access before

Chrome

Never denied/ allowed access before:

  1. You would be presented with a popup similar to screenshot like this: Click on 'Allow'

    Chrome permissions popup

  2. Confirm that your webcam is working.

In the webcam instructions popup, if you see a live video stream of your webcam, we are good to go! Click on the Proceed button to dismiss and proceed to the chat.

If you are unable to see stream of your webcam, check that you have given access to your camera by clicking on the lock button besides the address. It should say "Camera: Allow". If it says "Denied", follow the instructions in the next step.

    OR

Troubleshooting tips

If it is not working even after giving permissions and reloading, visit meet.google.com and create a session. If the camera is not showing up, it is likely an issue with the browser or privacy settings of your device.

Tip 1: Follow the troubleshooting steps here to make sure you are giving access to your camera properly.

Tip 2: You can also try this:

  1. Open Chrome browser

  2. Copy and paste the following into the address bar at the top of the browser: chrome://flags/#enable-media-foundation-video-capture

  3. In the drop down for "MediaFoundation Video Capture" select "Disabled"

  4. Relaunch Chrome and it should be fixed.

Tip 3: You can try this -

  1. Enter chrome://settings/content/camera in the Chrome address bar.

  2. Disable the setting "Ask before accessing."

  3. Under "Allow," delete https://www.adaface.com:443 if present.

  4. Refresh the Google Meet page and grant camera access when prompted.

Tip 4: Do make sure you are restarting browser and device after applying major settings. Also try using incognito/private window.

Firefox

Without this, even if you give camera permissions, you wouldn't be able to see the video in the instructions popup. To enable this, click on autoplay icon beside the video icon in address bar. Click on "Always allow autoplay..." and "Done". You need to reload after changing the settings.
